The Art and Science of Nurturing Children

Eileen began her early childhood teaching journey in 1989 when she started a Co-Op nursery school for a small group of children. The children had all participated in a RIE class and wanted to continue being together. She has taken two more such groups of RIE class children through to Kindergarten. 

She trained with Magda Gerber at the original RIE center in Silver Lake, CA. She has held RIE Parent/Child classes at the RIE Center, at the RIE Studio in Santa Monica and in Culver City for over 25 years. 

Parent consults, small group training and coaching have been her recent focus.  She is continuing her training with the Pikler Institute as a Pedagogue Candidate in Budapest, Hungary where RIE has its origins at The Pikler House.  She has over thirty years of experience applying the RIE/Pikler philosophy with children in groups.      

• Currently, holding Parent and Child classes through the Waldorf School of Philadelphia. Weekly classes allow a slow building of the relationship between children and the class leader.  Parents learn through observation and modeling. https://phillywaldorf.com/early-childhood

• Caregiver Coaching for center-based care. Working in small or large groups to support and train caregivers while working shoulder to shoulder in real time. 

• Parent Consults created to work with parents to help ease the rough spots of parenting and day to day issues.

• Parent Night and Enrichment Speaker for schools and centers. Will meet with Administrators, Teachers, and Caregivers and together target current questions and issues to focus topics.

• Workshops and ECE Training to enhance staff learning and for individuals and teams. Collaborate with all stakeholders to target areas for professional development and focused training.
